Our practice takes the time to provide you with a customized dental evaluation, and the helpful guidance on the best treatments for your needs and budget, so your smile is always improved. These advanced services include:
Crowns
Crowns are full coverage dental restorations that cover teeth that are likely to break, or are too broken to be fixed with a standard filling. Generally done after a root canal procedure, or when a larger filling wears out, crowns ride over the existing damaged tooth and provide strength and durability against further damage or breakage.
Crowns can be done in two appointments to repair a tooth. Decay is removed and the tooth is shaped to accept the crown. Tooth impressions are then made so we can then fit a synthetic, temporary crown of strong, durable porcelain over gold alloy, ceramic material, or actual gold. On the second visit, the temporary crown is then removed and the permanent crown is cemented into place.

Bridges
Natural teeth use their neighboring teeth for support. Bridges also use the surrounding teeth for support AND effectively fill the space left by missing teeth. This dental procedure helps to avoid any further “falling” of surrounding teeth, and can prevent other serious problems such as TMJ, gum disease, and more. Bridges lend more strength and durability to your smile, as they can be made of gold alloys, porcelain bonded to metal alloy, or all ceramic material.

Dentures
Dentures are removable, natural-looking replacements for missing teeth that nicely replicate their abilities. Patients who come see us here at Hyannis Harbor Dental can choose between full or partial dentures – depending on your need – and our talented staff will complete the customized implant procedure to give you full use of your teeth once more.

Implants
Dental implants are small titanium shafts that are surgically embedded into the jaw bone and topped with a prosthetic tooth to act as artificial roots. These implants are a restorative and cosmetic dentistry solution for missing teeth. Implants do not rely on surrounding teeth, do not stress the structure of teeth and jaws, and are easily replaced if worn or broken. Implants can also be used in other advanced procedures such as implant bridges (an excellent alternative to partial dentures) or even mini implants (stabilizing lower dentures). Implants are also incredibly versatile when solving serious tooth and jaw issues, and should always be considered a viable option

Root Canal Therapy
When cavities and disease are allowed to reach all the way to the pulp of the tooth, and it becomes infected, root canal therapies may be the only option to repair the overall structure of your tooth. Without this therapy, if left unchecked, cavities can extend through the root tip, causing an abscess in the jaw bone and even weakening the immune system.
During a root canal, the gentle compassionate dental staff remove the infected pulp and disinfect the canals of the tooth. Once the infection is removed, those same canals are filled to prevent any further infection. This should eliminate any negative symptoms of infection – increased sensitivity, pain, swelling – and give your tooth proper painless function once again.

TMJ Treatments
Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMJ/TMD) can cause pain and aching in your jaw and make everyday activities such as speaking and chewing more difficult and painful over time. These problems in the temporal-mandibular joint can be caused by misalignment of the teeth, trauma, or excess muscle tension. At Hyannis Harbor Dental, we offer treatments that greatly reduce or eliminate the pain and tenderness in your jaw and give you easy, smooth jaw function that lasts.
